Dear friends ,
It is with great pleasure and immense satisfaction that I am jotting these lines. First of all I must thank all the AOPN members of India for electing me as National chairperson of AOPN for the year 2025-26. As an active and founder member of AOPN I was able to do major pioneering work for the development of Pediatric Neurology in India. I am happy that AOPN was able to get best branch awards at National level consecutively

We in AOPN are witnessing a flurry of activities and an un ending enthusiasm. Each State branch is doing its best in disseminating Awareness about Child neurology issues, social problems and specific epilepsy problems . Dr Anoop Verma , Dr Sarabhai ,Dr Kalpana Datta, Dr Kiran Makhija & Dr Joshy must be congratulated for taking up the reins of AOPN in the past years. Dr. Vasanth Kalatkar and his team brought the IAP activities into a higher level than previous years.

I place on record my congratulations to all the big contributors of AOPN and child neuro care at large. Pediatric Neurology has developed slowly and steadily into a full fledged specialty in the last 5 decades.

I am happy that I could contribute to the development of Pediatric Neurology in India by providing various services like making MCI recognise it as a speciality, starting DM Pediatric Neurology, starting DrNB under national board,starting IAP Neurology fellowship, starting Journal of Pediatric necrology etc

Iam also happy that we we’re able to publish 2 editions of IAP textbook of neurology, and various national guidelines.

As president of 2025with my secretary Dr. Vinit Wankhede and other office bearers I wish that we will be able to match the work done by our previous stalwarts. My presidential action plans will be revealed during the midterm Neuropedicon at Trivandrum. I request all the state branches and other groups to whole-heartedly support our 2025-26 teams activities.
